Summer Schedule Kicks in

NWI Chapter meetings of May, June and July are annulled.
Neither Ron nor myself are available in May to open and close the church.

Traditionally July has been the Chapter picnic, details to follow.

August will find us visiting the Oregon depot once again.

NWI Membership Report

The books are closed on 2018 NWI membership and subscriber renewal season.

2018 stands with 39 NRHS members via this or another chapter. NWL subscribers stand at 64. Overall we had a nine person reduction from 2017.

On the RIP Track-Part 2

The April NWL was mailed using a piece of tape instead of a single staple to hold the newsletter together during mailing. Apparently this did not fare any better than a single staple with more damage reports.

This mailing will use a bit more fastener, let me know how it works. If you need a replacement, I will mail a new NWL to you.

In the summer time…

As the NWI enters our summer activities, here is a suggestion:

Rochelle Railroad Days will be June 2 & 3. Union Pacific has been running two of their heritage units, #1982 the Missouri Pacific and #1983 the Western Pacific, on G2G2 intermodal train. These are captive units are reportedly being held for display at the Railroad Days. In the past, the display units were set up east of the UP depot on the old house track. They have also had yellow tape around the steps to discourage over eager fans from boarding the units.
